A very unique hockey event, here we have 2 feel-good stories happening at once, underprivileged kids being served by our wounded warriors, it doesn’t get any better than that!
HOCKEY ON YOUR BLOCK is a non-profit charitable organization in alliance with the NHL and USA Hockey. Our mission is to improve the social and academic well being of at-risk youth in the greater Chicago area. The program involves hundreds of youth annually through a combination of athletics, after school educational enrichment and community service. Hockey On Your Block uses the great sport of hockey to,
(1) Inspire and assist youths to stay in school and improve their health
(2) Support development of Life Skills such as perseverance, discipline and teamwork which will lead to better decision-making, elevated self-esteem and multicultural social competencies.
